opmuntring for mig.
Kort før det engelske team arriverede, kom to amerikanske
sportslejr (Camp Monty)for alle børn i byen.
Under
året lovsangsvinder blev ”10.000 reasons” (Bless the Lord all my soul” eller
oplevelser: Engelsk aften, Balkan aften, the famøse Talent show og en bålhygge
aften.
åbnede op for at lære ham bedre at kende.
bedre at kende.
intense kristne fællesskab her I huset.
i verden.
I Efeserne
gedekid i mine arme.
direkte ned i vandet.
tilbage I byen.
varmt land. Guds fred og velsignelse over jeres sommer!
(And for those who maybe need English translation)
So again I
realise that it is a long time ago I wrote on my blog. However, it is a
blessing that I have no time to write here. Right now I am sitting at the local
lake in around 35 - 40 degrees looking on the most beautiful nature.
Since last blog we have had the English camp and around that camp many different activities. The English team from the Northern part of England came Wednesday before the camp (which started the coming Monday). A few of them I knew from previous years – and it is a great pleasure to see old faces again. Like every year I also enjoyed getting new friends on the English team – that have been a great encouragement for me. Before the camp I used a lot of my time meeting up with my friends here in town so I could invite them on camp. Also I helped out being in charge of some different things at the camp: the program, room plan, different activities, worship and sharing my testimony.

Also I helped out being in charge of some different things at the camp: the program, room plan, different activities, worship and sharing my testimony.
The English team had different seminars in the morning both before and after camp and in the evening they had different social events so they could get to know Montenegrins students and participants on the camp. We had some wonderful evenings with a music café, trip to the local lake and a game night. One of my good friends I got five summers ago showed up Friday before the camp together with her Danish boyfriend, so it was nice and refreshing to have another Dane around.
Just before
the English team arrived two American girls arrived to our house. They are a
part of a greater team that next week will make a big sports camp (Camp Monty)
for all children in town. They were a part of the English camp because they
could build relationship between English camp and Camp Monty starting next
week.
Finally, it
was time for us to go on camp! It was a
new, but very beautiful place in the mountains. The first thing happening was
of cause the traditionally Danish social games where we got to know each other.
Every morning we would start the day
with having English classes for afterwards having a talk about the bible from
the gospel of John. Different people talked about different chapters (both
English leaders, Montenegrin leaders and Andreas) and different people shared
testimonies. During the bible talk we would also sing some worship songs both
in English and Montenegrin. I think the winner was “10.000 reasons” (Bless the
Lord all my soul) or “Blagoslovi Ga”. When the bible talk was over, we would go
out in different bible study groups using a material called “Uncover” talking
about the text our self. It was the English students leading the different
groups. In the afternoon we had different activities such as playing Cricket,
swimming in a nearby river and teambuilding games. And in the evening we had an
English night, Balkan night, the famous talent show and the bonfire evening. On
a camp there is always challenges, but the good things happening in peoples
life on camp and the good friendships growing overshined the challenges a lot.
There were some people that heard about God for the first time and opened up
for getting to know him even more. Friendships were growing between people who
did not know each other before the camp and with a danger of sounding about
hippie-ish I will dare to say that a special kind of love grew on the camp because
we all looked towards God. I also got some chances to go out in the mountain
and have alone bible time with God – that was an amazing experience to sit in
majestic mountains spending time with the most important thing for me, Jesus! I
can only worship it through Psalm 8, 3-4+9 (ESV) in the bible: “When I look at
your heavens, the work of your finders, the moon and the stars, which you have
set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that
you care for him? (…) O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the
earth!”
Worth
mentioning is that we also had four Americans coming from Belgrade where they
are during the summer helping out. They spread joy and happiness and for me it
was very encouraging speaking with all of them both during camp and after.
Personally,
the English camp was different this year because both I and Tanja and Andreas
were characterized as a part of the local Montenegrin team. Already, last year
I experienced to be a bigger part of the local team, but it is uplifting to
feel that it is growing year by year. I hope I am worthy of their trust and am
not taking it for granted!
In general
I am very encourage by the last week’s intensity in Christian fellowship. Being
so many people in the house and on the camp with different nationalities,
denominations, ages, gifts and personalities have reminded me about how God
himself describes the Christian fellowship. 1. Cor. 12, 12 – 14 (ESV) says it like this:
“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the
body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we
were all baptized into one body – Jews or Greeks, slaves or free – and all were
made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of
many.” I have deeply enjoyed seeing more of the Christian body these weeks. I
have met Christian brothers and sisters very different from my self, but they
have through their love towards my person showed me so much more of how God’s
love to me is. They have taught me a lot about life and have been very
inspiring being around. Even though we are different we are one family through
Jesus himself – through his blood on the cross. That is what unites us! What an
amazing gift I got through that! In Ephesians 4, 15-16 (ESV) I was reminded by
the following: “Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every
way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and
held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is
working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.” Working
here with people from Montenegro, U.S, Serbia, England and of cause Denmark
have build me, other people and the Christian fellowship up in the love of God.
Many other
things have happen during the last days. After the camp I went with the two American
girls to the hill in the city. That was an interesting experience. We met a
professor who showed us around on the hill, and for a city girl like me, it is
not every day I held a kid in my arms. It was so fun and beautiful to look over
Niksic from different sides of the mountain. That is a rather typical thing
happening here – that you meet a person randomly and use hours together with
the person because he wants to be hospitable.
Another day
I went with all the people from the camp to the cost, to the town Kotor. I have
been there many times before, but it is an old cosy town with the most beautiful
bay where the mountains directly dive into the water. It was a very hot day, so
it was lovely and refreshing to use hours on the beach having fun, talking with
each other and build on the new friendships.
Yesterday,
I was together with different friends enjoying being back in town. Now my focus
turns to next week where the big sports camp, Camp Monty, will start. I am
going to see which kind of need there is for my help and which group of people
I shall focus on.
A lot of
thoughts go to you all here from me in a very hot country! God bless you and
your summer!
